Foreign Intervention changed throughout the United States in the duration of 1790 and 1940 with the change from being an isolationist type of country to a more intervening world power. Starting from our Monroe Doctrine, our conquering of pacific countries, and the start of WWII our were the only times that our government has taken the opportunity to intervene in foreign affairs. Pushing our way towards a nation wide power started with our government moving towards a new role in trade between Europe and Asia, making their dominance with acts and treaties. The Monroe Doctrine was arguably our biggest push to be involved in other nations in the sense of having no real reason to be involved in the acts to start off with. The Monroe Doctrine essentially states that any any nation trying to change the United States or any other nations political standpoint will be have the United States forcibly taking action in opposition to these actions to keep any nation pure to their beliefs. The situation with China’s Open Door Policy was against the idea of why the Monroe Doctrine was made.
