The Neolithic Revolution drastically changed the lives of the people in the Paleolithic Era. From where they lived, to their lifestyles, government, and how they received their food was all changed during this time. Additionally, the Neolithic Revolution was the start of a new era that had many technological advancements. Some of those changes are still being used today. Without the Neolithic Revolution we would not be living the way we are right now. It was definitely a turning point in history.
Before the Neolithic Revolution, came the Paleolithic Era. This era dates back to the beginning of human existence. Many people also refer to this as “The Old Stone Age”. They obtained their food by hunting-and-gathering. Additionally, they moved from place to place to find food. They traveled in small groups and set up temporary homes as they journeyed with the animals (Penfield.edu). Some changes were drastic, but some were also minor. Before the Neolithic Revolution people were hunters-and-gatherers. But, they developed ways to plant and harvest crops that made gathering food an easier task. Planting a harvesting crops was an important change because it led to the creation and changes of many other things. For example, they also domesticated animals. Since they were no longer living a nomadic lifestyle they built permanent settlements that led to the development of towns and cities (Khan Academy). The development of cities also led to the creation of a governmental system that was controlled by military and religious leaders. As the people and their lifestyles evolved, they also became susceptible to new diseases, which created a shorter life expectancy (Differn.com).
