The pyramids of Egypt were considered to be one of the great mysteries of the world because there is no record on how they built them and the time in which they were constructed. There are several theories as to how they were made (some more believable than others). But since the Egyptians didn’t have access to the wheel it’s an even bigger mystery. Since they didn’t have wheels there must have been some other way that they used to move the blocks. They used ramps build on the side of the pyramids to make slaves pull the huge bock up. Now there are several theories on the ramps, some people say they were going around the side, that there were big long ramps going only on one side, or that there are ramps inside. All are very plausible theories but the idea is that they pulled giant bricks up ramps and put them in the shape of a pyramid. While they were building these pyramids there not just one solid stone pyramid. They have passage ways and traps and dead ends because, they are tombs for the pharos who had them built so, they had all of the Pharaoh’s belongings inside them and they didn’t want anyone stealing them. …show more content…
