The time before the Renaissance was a time of darkness. During the middle ages there was nothing but disease and religion, which why it is known as the dark ages. The Middle Ages took place 500 CE to about 1350 and the primary players of Europe were the Catholic Church and the Pope. Reason why everyone was against each other and made everything confusing. But the Renaissance was the high peak of European history because that’s when art and literature started to evolve and then science started to finally come into the picture.
The Renaissance movement was the bridge because it was the beginning of individual thought, and appreciation of literature and the arts. The shift in the art style changed the way people viewed reality. This was just because of the art and how it led to people seeing the world differently. The idea that man was capable of great accomplishment inspired many artists to pursue their studies in the arts and humanities. During the Middle Ages, people believed that only God had the power to create. The Renaissance, however, gave credit to artistic creativity and achievement.
The Renaissance reached to an end in the late sixteenth mid seventeenth century. The churches loss a lot of power and grasp of feeling of independence, human expression and investigation led to envy, treason, murder, violence and theft. But than again the Renaissance were the ones that painted the way to a lot of achievements and inventions in a lot of different areas of culture, society, science, religion and modern day life.
