Even though at that time the Puritan's strong religious belief was that anyone practicing witchcraft was to be killed, there was no proof that any witches were actually in Salem during this time. The Salem witch trials are infamous for the horrible things that happened in Salem during 1692. The Salem witch trials was an awful part of American history but it helped to show the founding fathers what was necessary to improve the justice system.
