Following a victory of the Seven Years’ War the British made policy changes on how to handle the American colonies. These policies were to enforce trade regulations, as well as collecting money to help pay for the expenses of the British Empire. These policies would be The Sugar Act, which helped making the collection of taxes on molasses more efficient. Then in 1765, The Stamp Act was created. The Stamp Act would spread the English Tax on newspapers, legal documents and other prints. This would cause the colonists to boycott any British goods, making the British repeal the Stamp Act.
