The topic of this essay will be conducted on is the role of the United Nations have taken in achieving a solution to the conflict within the Central African Republic. The conflict in the Central African Republic all began on the 10th of December, 2012, the war is still present to this day. With the start of the war in the Central African Republic in the northern hemisphere meaning that it would have been winter and at the time making it easier for the rebels to attack as they were all prepared and the civilians were unprepared. Since the beginning of the war it has been escalating for the past three years and more deaths to this day. This image in Source A show how much damage that the rebels have caused in the past two years as data is as of July 2014. As you can see from this data. Since December 2013, approximately 25 percent of the Central African Republic’s population have been internally displaced by the conflict (source: UNHCR Global Appeal 2015 Update, 2015.) the conflict in Central African Republic (C.A.R) the war is a civil war and it is between the Séléka rebel coalition and the Government Forces (Wood, 2014). The conflict in C.A.R came to light after the rebels had accused the government of president François Bozizé for failing to abide by peace agreements signed in 2007and 2011. The united nations have some plans to stop the civil war but there is no evidence that the plans are doing a lot to help the war. There are three plans that the United Nations have set to prevent a massive war from getting bigger then it is already the first plan is called Armée Populaire pour La Restauration de La Démocratie (APRD) – 19th October 2011 (United Nations Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, 2011) and the second plan is Convention des patriotes pour la justice et la paix (CPJP) – 20 Nov 2011 (United Nations Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, 2011) United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINSUCA) (Un.org, 2015).
