Wars. Fighting. Rebellions. Protests. These are all global issues that have negative impacts on people every day. The Beatles are an English rock band that was formed in 1960. They are one of the most influential groups of all time. Revolution by The Beatles is a song that puts a stand to the Vietnam war. Published in 1968, this song left quite a few people shocked when they found out the opinions that The Beatles had on the war. Revolution is a song that signifies the importance of antiwar. Overall, the Vietnam war created a global antiwar movement.

College students made it aware that the people battling in the war were their age and people just like them so students got draft deferments. These draft deferments made it so that college kids did not get drafted in the war. This left all the poor and uneducated people with the fact that they were the ones that had to go to war. Black people were more likely to get drafted in the war than white people because most black people could not afford an education. The black people who did have some money spent it on living and not on tuition. A group that fought for rights during this time was the New Left. The New Left is a political movement that campaigned for different social injustices such as racism and war violence. It is compared to the student protests which are most notable in France in May of 1968. New Left’s goal was to bring diversity and change to the world. The name New Left has been adopted all over Europe and it shows the social injustices that are needing to be changed. New Left in the United States was built from student socialist activism and the African American Civil Rights Movement. The Vietnam war fueled New Left with things to protest about. New Left helped shape our world and society. The New Left Review is a British journal that shaped and changed the opinions of the world towards antiwar, protesting and violence. John wrote, “It’s gonna be alright, alright.”(Lennon) John believed that God was there to lead him in the right direction and get the war resolved. It showed reassurance and trust in the issues that could not be controlled or changed by John. “We’d all love to change your head,” (Lennon) is the statement lyric of the song. It was John’s way of saying that he thought people needed to get themselves all figured out before they went and started changing the world using violence. He believed that they were going to get the entire world killed. John thought that our society was run by insane people with insane objectives. This inspired the lyric,”We’d all love to see the plan.” (Lennon) He took this lyric as a chance to almost challenge the leaders to write down a plan because he did not think anyone knew what they were doing. “Count me in'' or “Count me out” ( Lennon). Both lyrics are used in different versions of the song. Now why would John switch up the lyrics in a song? He actually stated that the reason he included both is because he didn’t want to get killed. This showed that during the time, antiwar movements were something that was scary and new. Through song and voice, antiwar was very prominent during the Vietnam war. As one can tell, the Vietnam war has had a tremendous impact on society. It has changed the route of wars and movements
