He made sure to leave neither witnesses nor evidence of his murder. His motive is still questionable to this day. As I read more of Zodiac’s saga, I cannot help feeling disturbed and disgusted. His perfectionism and calculating nature depicted in his crimes is unsettling. This shows how humans are unpredictable and savage.
Serial killers are vicious monsters. Monsters that deserve to go to jail. Monsters who had bad home lives as children and have had even harder adult lives. There is still no excuse. John Wayne Gacy eventually got the death sentence, even after he and his lawyers filed many lawsuits to stop it.

On October 11, 1969, only two weeks after his last murder, the Zodiac entered a taxi driven by Paul Stine at around 9:30. The Zodiac requested to be taken to Washington and Maple Street in Presidio Heights, but the driver drove one block past the destination for an unknown reason. Zodiac waited for the car to come to a halt when he suddenly grabbed Paul’s collar and shot him in the skull point blank. The Zodiac exited the vehicle from the backseat and re-entered the passenger seat, tore off a piece of Paul’s clothing and drove off. Two teenagers across the street saw the cab from their second floor window and called the police.
One of America’s greatest unsolved mysteries is the killings of the Zodiac Killer. This criminal not only murdered innocent people on the street, but also taunted the police in his numerous notes and letters. This man terrorized the streets of California for over 5 years in the sixties and seventies before seemingly disappearing from society. Although many people have come forward with evidence, there have still been no arrests made in the case of the attention craving Zodiac Killer, yet the investigation that took place is one of the most intense in history.
Another reason the police are at fault for the lasting case of the Zodiac Killer is their inability to catch him, even with an abundance of evidence. With at least 18 letters sent, and phone calls to the police, the Zodiac is yet to be apprehended. One suspect coined by the author Robert Graysmith, Arthur Leigh Allen, told his family he was going to Lake Berryessa, the exact location of the third zodiac killing. What he found was this: the young couple were found in a crumpled shack, bound and tied. It was obvious that they had tried to escape their demise. Robert was shot in the chest eleven times and Linda was shot nine times in the chest. The murder tried to burn the bodies but couldn’t get the fuel to ignite. The only connection between these murders and the Zodiac Killer was the weapon used.
Although they were brought up with terrible pasts they still stray far from the title of a psychopath. The media and the world tend to argue, or place blame on the parents and other social factors for the psychopaths that turn into our most notorious serial killers. However, some killers such as Charles Manson, and Aileen Wuornos, were neglected early on in their childhood, the list of Serial KIllers who had a normal life growing up is much longer. They have an urge to kill. They enjoy killing and like doing it in the same way. Serial killers usually go for victims that are very similar. They have mental issues that make them do these things. Some say they do not have a conscience to listen to, and if they do, they are killing by choice.
On an episode of criminal minds the “Zodiac killer” is depicted as person that was very calculated in the way he committed crimes. This serial killer send letters to the newspaper describing how he killed his
