Soon he was murdered in Canterbury, but also left a great impact on those that he inspired during this time period. Archbishop Thomas a Becket was on good terms with the King and served him for many years as a statesman and diplomat, he even served as a soldier and led troops into battle against the French troops during their attempt to regain land against Elenor of Aquitaine.
