Have you ever decided to go to an island with some friends? Have you ever run away from home without telling anyone? Many people may think escaping from home is exciting, but Tom Sawyer is one person who learned from his mistakes. For example, Samuel Clemens wrote The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which has many characters like Tom Sawyer, who made poor choices but learned to adjust his behavior. Tom Sawyer is an adventurous kid who has altered into a new character throughout the book. Like Tom, I have transformed academically and socially throughout seventh grade.

First of all, I was not completely appeased with my friends from sixth grade because there was a lot of drama. This year I have met many new friends that are nice, kind, funny, and exciting to be around. I feel that I can trust them more than my friends from sixth grade. Besides meeting my closest friends, I have met many unique people in seventh grade. I am not close to everyone in school, but I have acquired many new acquaintances. If school was a desert, friends would be the icing to my cake. They always make the day a little bit sweeter. Usually I wouldn't be as outgoing to meet new people, but I have adjusted and encountered new classmates. Secondly, I have improved with asking teachers for help when I need assistance. In the beginning of the year, I wasn't very confident when asking for support. Toward the middle of the year, I started gaining confidence and began asking my teachers questions, which enabled me to gain independence within my work. I could be helped without feeling awkward, which was what I feared in the beginning. Towards the end of the year, questions seemed easy as pie.
