Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” This was a quote from the infamous Mark Twain, who wrote the book The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Everyone changes, it’s what we do when we grow up. Some sneaky, creative, and manipulative little boy could turn into a caring and understanding man. While a shy little girl may one day burst out of her shell and be an audacious and confident woman. In The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Tom changes a lot throughout the book, becoming more mature both morally and socially, which when you read it, is pretty amazing how he changes like that. He changes morally because at the beginning he used to be so careless and didn’t take anything seriously. When I began seventh grade I was going through some things that I would always want to keep to myself, not telling everyone what was going through my head. Although after I met some friends at this new school and I got to know them a lot more, I started to share with them everything that I was keeping to myself. I was a dog running free in an open field, away from the pound I held myself in. They helped me get back on my feet and started to help improve my self- love and self-confidence for myself without knowing it. My friends also helped me realize that I have so many talents; One of my talents and favorite activities is to sing. When I sang to them, they said I had the voice of a goddess!
