Imagine being mocked and ridiculed because of your skin color. Imagine being looked down upon and having vulgar words fly at you because of your ethnicity. Imagine not being allowed to go to school or play with your neighbors because you looked different. Imagine not being able to get married to the love of your life due to some dumb law about what color your skin is. W.E.B DuBois was very much against black discrimination. He tried to do all he could to put an end to it. DuBois studied and pushed as hard as he could to make a change in racism. W.E.B DuBois helped to fight for and improve black rights. From how he grew up, to what he did in life, to where and how he helped fight, DuBois fought hard for what he believed. William Edward Burghardt DuBois, W.E.B DuBois, was born on February 23, 1868. Due to his feelings, DuBois helped improve lives for blacks. One of the first things that DuBois did to help was help found the Niagara Movement and the NAACP. He also wrote lots of newspapers, magazines, and books. Dr. DuBois joined a lot of organizations focused on helping black lives. He helped with the Niagara movement, a protest group made up by African-American scholars and professionals. DuBois also helped found the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). During helping these groups, DuBois wrote a lot of magazines and newspapers towards the advancement of the organizations (naacp.org). As DuBois continued to help black rights, he took his career outside of the United States (naac.org). He went to Africa and the West Indies where he lived for several years to help black rights.
