War ends with deaths, missing people, traumatized people and some without food or a home. A question that most historians ask is, what starts a war. In this case what started the vietnam war? We all know it was a civil war and that was one of the main reasons America fought in the Vietnam war, democracy for the world! Vietnam's story started with the French colonization, for over 6 decades the French had been in control of the vietnamese people. The people over time no longer worked for themselves, they worked for the French colons. The French conquered everything and wanted it to benefit them and only them. Vietnam was not what it is now, it was the French Indochina. Vietnam went through a time period of unimaginable change, where they were obligated to obey or starved. These people lived in country where war was being fought everyday, especially with the amount of lives being lost under working conditions. In the span of 25 years 17,000 recorded people died in one michelin-owned plantations in the hands of the French however during the Vietnamese monarch 600,000 Catholics had been killed and slaughtered. This is what lead people to an uprising against the French and its own country officials, so many uncalled for deaths. Some people had lived long enough to remember what their country was like, and even though the Vietnamese monarch was of no better than the French, they could practise their Faith with no harm.
