What Is More Challenging, All Star Cheerleading or High School Cheerleading Overall this debate is very difficult to take sides on, both cheers are separated almost into different categories, skill levels to be exact. Both include hard heavy practices and so much commitment, but there are some differences between. Anyone can become a cheerleader starting at different ages, and move up as the athlete improves. You need to be in such good shape to be a successful cheerleader. You need the right mindset because it can get draining at points, but in the end it's so worth it. It is clear that All star cheer is more difficult than high school cheer. “All star cheerleaders generally have a higher skill level then highschool cheerleaders”(King) Even though highschool cheer is hard All star has significantly more levels which makes it more challenging. “All star cheerleading doesn't cheer for sports teams or other events, so the cheers are more performance based rather than boosting school spirit”(King). High School cheerleaders are more perceived as preppy and they perform but for the school and all star is very very competitive. “I like competition more because it's faster and challenges you to get more skills.
