In the play the The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, it takes place in Salem 1692. After Abigail Williams danced in the woods, she started to accuse women of being witches. Once they were accused [punctuation error] they were hanged without probable cause. Arthur Miller was the author who best used writing craft to convey meaning because of his use of characterization, conflict and tone. Arthur Miller has an amazing way on writing out conflict. When he does he makes it clean, also can make the problem grow. Proctor says,“ You have all witnessed it; what more is needed?” (Miller 131). This line in the play explains that John Proctor doesn’t want his name posted on church doors, because he doesn’t want the village to know that he signed his name. Proctor says, “Your Honor, my wife never kept no poppets. Mary Warren confesses it was her poppet” (Miller 131).
