Courage If one displays courage, he or she doesn’t have to be a superhero fighting crime or facing giant monsters in unknown lands. That person who displays courage can be just anyone off the street in everyday life. Courage is doing something that is scary. Courage is getting over the fear of doing something that seems difficult and just doing it. Atticus from “To Kill Mockingbird” shows courage in many ways. In the beginning of the book, there was a town dog named Tom Johnson. He went rabid and was wondering down the street and was a real danger to everyone near him. Calpurnia called Atticus figuring that he would know how to handle the situation. He took care of it by shooting the dog, which was a surprise the his kids.
