This quote is relevant throughout To Kill a Mockingbird because in To Kill a Mockingbird the characters that matter all show a lot of courage. This book takes place in Alabama during the great depression the two main characters are scout and Jem and throughout the book, they realize that boo is not a bad man instead he is a courageous man. Through To Kill a Mockingbird courage is shown by fighting even if you know you won't win. Throughout the book, Mrs.Dubose, Atticus, and boo showed a lot of courage. Atticus has lots of courage. Attics has a lot of courage because he defended Tom Robinson when he knew that he would lose the case. This is courageous because he knew that the town would be hard on him for taking the side of a colored man. He tool the case because he knew that it was the right thing to do. Another reason why Atticus is courageous is he shot the crazy dog that was wandering in the streets. This is courageous because he didn’t want people to see him with a gun because he thinks that it isn’t courageous. But he did it anyway for the safety of the town.
