The Great Gatsby is an American classic novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald in 1925 during the roaring twenties. The author mainly talks about a character named Gatsby who is very wealthy but who is empty inside without his dream love, Daisy who he has been in love with for about five years . He faces challenges to be with his love because he is from a different class and he wasn’t born in a wealthy family. Fitzgerald takes us on a journey to show us a lot about the American class during that era and how they view each other. Fitzgerald mainly focuses is on the differences between the old money society and new money society. Baz Luhrmann, the director of the 2013 movie of The Great Gatsby adds quotes or uses the direct quotes from the book that effectively convey the novel’s the theme of money and power can affect how you can perceive others.
