In high school people judge others by what they look like all time. The screenplay “To Kill a Mockingbird,” has examples of this in it. It is set in Maycomb, Alabama in 1932. There is a man named Boo Radley. The story around the town is that Boo stabbed his father with scissors in the side of the left knee. Tom Robinson was a convicted criminal. The town is a little racist and this is shown when they convicted Tom Robinson of a crime he didn't do. One of the themes in To Kill a Mocking is Appearances don't always reflect reality. First in the screen playst Stephenie says Boo Radley is a maniac. “ There’s a manic living there and he's dangerous “(Foote 12). “ ...he eats raw squirrels and all the cats he can catch” (foote 12). There was really no proof that Boo ate raw squirrels or cats. Almost everyone in the town judges Boo because he is a quiet guy that stays in his house. This shows the theme appearances don't always reflect reality because Jem never saw Mr.Radley east squirrels or cats.
Finally in the screenplay “To Kill a MockingBird,” Jem says Boo's dad is the meanest man alive. “Shhh! There goes the meanest man that ever took a breath of life “( Foote 11). What jem had said was exaggerated about Boo’s old man but jem was not wrong. The theme appearances don't always reflect reality is shown because Boo’s dad is not the meanest man alive but he is mean. Boo radley's dad is not the meanest man that ever took a breath of life in 1932, there were many meaner people in that time. The screen play shows to kill a mockingbird shows that appearances don't always reflect reality. This show a lot in the screenplay “To Kill a Mockingbird,”. Jem says a lot about Boo radley and so does Mrs.Stephanie. By the end of the screenplay the setting is still in Maycomb County, Alabama in 1932. Theres how the theme appearances don't always reflect
