Dystopian societies constantly prove that perfect is impossible and there is always a hole in the system. The Pedestrian is a story by Ray Bradbury that takes place in 2053 A.D. The main character, Mr. Leonard Mead, is walking around in his neighborhood during his free time. A cop car he encounters thinks it is strange because it is not the ordinary thing to do. The police car takes Mr. Mead away. In the story,Bradbury shows us that by using force against the population that is ineffective because it creates more problems than helps. He shows this by his plot,imagery, and more literary elements. The dystopian society has no police patrol instead it has robots to control the crime going on in the world. They use machines to control people to follow the laws.
