Basic Information Truman Capote’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s was published in 1958 by Random House publishing company. Capote wrote Breakfast at TIffany’s in his home in New York City. During 1958, Capote not only got Breakfast at Tiffany’s published and featured in two different magazines, He also started his unfinished novel Unanswered Prayers. The initial backlash from this novel caused capote to turn to drinking and drugs, resulting in his death by liver cancer in 1984.

Holly was originally from Texas but moved to hollywood, New york, brazil, and argentina. While in new york she meets the narrator who reminds her of her brother fred. She stays the day at his apartment and after she has left, she sends him her business card which says Holly Golightly, Traveling, along with a note that says “Bless you darling Fred. Please forgive the other night. You were an angel about the whole thing.” (Capote, 27). Later in the novel Holly's husband Doc Golightly finds her and asks her to move back to Texas with her. She denies and ends up getting pregnant from a guy named José. Holly asks “Fred” to go horseback riding with her during one of her last days but “Fred’s” horse gets out of control. Holly ends up stopping the crazed horse, but loses her baby in the process. Shortly after she is arrested for being involved in a drug ring. Her fiance leaves for Brazil without her and she decides to go too, alone. She evades the police and safely makes it to Brazil. “Fred” does not hear from her for a long time. When he does, he finds out that she has met a guy and is now living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The author does not hear from her
