Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland written by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson or better known by his pen name Lewis Caroll and was first published in 1865. The novel follows the adventures of a little girl in the land of make believe or otherwise known as “wonderland”. The novel is filled with unique characters with different attitudes. One of the characters “The queen” plays a memorable role in the novel with a quick-tempered attitude. The following essay will discuss the anger of the queen and why, her reasons include the “white rose tree” situation, the opposing king who disregards any orders the queen makes and Alice’s winning streak in her game of croquet with queen. Lewis Caroll in the novel depicts a formidable character against the novels protagonist character Alice. The character otherwise known as The Queen or Red queen is one of the antagonistic characters in the novel. Her easily angered attitude is uncovered quickly in the introduction of her character.
