As the country that occupies most of the Amazon River, the largest river by discharge of water in the world, Brazil is renowned for its ample fresh water resource. Brazil, however, is now troubled by some water-related problems as global climate is intensely changing. Based on the evidences collected from the Internet, this paper will focus on what influences climate change brings to the water of Brazil and how it leads to them. Generally speaking, the problems of droughts and water pollution are deteriorated by climate change and they put negative effects on the basic life of Brazilians; it is through interfering the local water circle that climate change affects the water in Brazil, while the deforestation in Amazon Rain Forest also plays a significant role in both the water circle and climate change. In the past decades, on account of climate change which causes a warmer environment, the rainfall in Brazil has been reduced and directly resulted in a shortage of fresh water: “In late October 2010, a historic drought had been registered on the opposite side of the country...the Amazonas and the Solimoes rivers, two of the largest rivers in the world, registered their lowest levels since recording first began”(Martins). However, such a harsh drought is just a fuse. Then, it influenced the supply of water for residential life, like drinking and washing. According to Martins, there were “already over 140 Brazilian cities implementing water rationing during the worst drought in over twenty years with some neighborhoods only receiving water once every three days”(Werrell and Femia).
