Abstract
True identity is tested when various cultures are brought together to live as one. Through food, fashion, and music society as a whole has been influenced by diversity. America has a habit of synthesis. Rodrigues lives in San Francisco a predominately Asian city. Through interviews Rodriguez has established that America has created him, shaped him, and molded him. The land of the free and yet it is as if the American culture is forced upon the various other cultures, although America works to amplify diversity and the importance of diversity. Overtime accents fade away and their culture lingers behind. One’s culture is put to the test when being practically forced to learn and understand English along with pronouncing every syllable correctly. Over time one practices English and grammar and as time passes by their accents grow dim. The American culture gives the impression that no matter what there is no escape from their influential culture, it is not that diversity is not accepted it is the fact that America diligently toils to unify the country. America has various cultures with diverse religious views and languages. Schools are having the biggest affect. Over the years schools have changed from predominately African Americans and Caucasians to a broader range of ethnicities. While trying to unify various cultures Americans may forget that we are different, although we share history it is cultural differences and individuality that makes America unique beyond
