“I never get to talk to nobody. I get awful lonely” (86) in the book, Curley’s wife loneliness is mistaken for something else. Something in the areas of lust. Curley’s wife is not the only character to be
The death of Curley’s wife is a very shocking event which is what triggers George’s decision to shoot Lennie. She does nothing wrong and without noticing Lennie kills her; just how he killed the mouse and the puppy killed the puppy. Curley’s wife’s death is a tragedy and symbolizes Lennie’s untroubled life coming to an end. Even though Lennie is not a bad person after the death of Curley’s wife, we can no longer think of him as an innocent child-like person. George and Lennie’s life was about survival, but centred on the innocent dream of the rabbits.
The men on the farm try to stay away from her because they think she’s trying to flirt with them and they don’t want to get in trouble with the boss or get in a fight with curly. She is a very lonely person and try’s to flirt with the other men on the farm because she has no one to talk to. Curley doesn’t care about her and treats her
Furthermore, Crook’s and Candy’s unrealistic notions revolving ambitions prohibited them from accomplishing them. Candy’s dreams are obstructed due to ageism. Candy is in a rush to fulfill any last ambitions before he passes away. He could finally view himself in a peaceful mindset, with proper people. However, once Curley’s wife was found dead, and Lennie was dead, Candy uttered when worried his last year of life would not be fulfilled, "You an’ me can get that little place, can’t we, George?
Have you ever felt left out or unappreciated. That's how the 2 characters from the book Of Mice and Men felt one . John Steinbeck wrote this book in the year 1937, this book is about two men named George and Lennie. They were looking for jobs in a place called Soledad because Lennie caused problems in a town called weed. In society it is natural to judge someone when you first meet them, and sometimes it leads them to misperception. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck talks about George and Lennie, their journey through the Great Depression. The start of the book talks about how George and Lennie move from farm to farm looking for work and they find a new farm. At this farm they befriend a few of the workers there, but they all misperceive Lennie right away and see him as this weakling that cannot do anything really serious. Since in the end Lennie ends up killing Curley’s wife and no one expected it since he comes off more childish.
John Steinbeck created many interesting characters in his novel Of Mice and Men. Curley's Wife, one of the main characters, is an example of the American Dreamer architype. This is demonstrated by connections to the 21st Century, ideas and events in that time period, and comparing another characters architype. I am writing about the archetype American Dreamer. An American Dreamer is someone who thinks that everyone should have a chance to succeed and achieve their goals with hard work.
When Curley's Wife is trying to talk with Lennie, she expresses how the lack of companionship causes someone to search for attention: "'Why can't I talk to you? I never get to talk to nobody. I get awful lonely'"(86). Curley's Wife has never experienced companionship, she is never allowed to talk to anyone. This causes her to feel lonely and long for attention.
Curley’s Wife: The Struggle of Getting Out From Her Cage Throughout literature, women who are characterized as shameless temptresses are often the way they are because of a desperation to break away from society’s oppression of low-class, uneducated females. This is never more true than for Curley’s wife in the fictional novella Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. Through considerate yet concise descriptions of her fantasy of Hollywood stardom, putting down of others, and attention-seeking ways, Curley’s wife is revealed to be a downtrodden female who suffers from her own internal, emotional conflict. Curley’s wife muses about her Hollywood ideal as a reassurance that she is a woman of worth and potential.
Curley’s Wife says “Why can't I talk to you? I never get to talk to nobody. I get awful lonely.” Usually she seems like a strong person, but when she says this, it exposes a more vulnerable and dependent side of her. Generally a married couple gets along pretty well, but it is different with Curley and his wife.
Throughout the book curlys wife would be called names behind her own back by the guys on the farm. It first started when George and Lennie was in the bunkhouse and a Swamper came in and asked them if they seen curlys wife. The Swamper began saying that she is "purty" but gives the "eye"(28) to some of the people on the farm. This shows that the people on the

Curley’s Wife was just trying to find someone to confide in, and Lennie was there, but because she could cause trouble, Lennie wasn’t allowed to talk to her. She says to Lennie, “‘Why can’t I talk to you? I never get to talk to nobody. I get awful lonely’” (86).
(87) More specifically, the other men on the ranch refuse to talk to her because Curley’s position of power on the ranch portrays him as having the ability to have any man on the ranch lose their job. Furthermore, when Curley’s wife was conversing with Lennie in the barn and confided in him, she said: “Well, I ain’t
