It is said that the government tries to have the best of intentions for the economy. In a recent article Canada is talked about in how they have been intervening in the farm markets. They are trying to enhance profitability for the farms by using different programs and policies. Government interference in agriculture does not only affects which goods and products are produced, but also the quantity of imports and exports of many commodities. This usually is because they are trying to make the economy efficient but this can sometime backfire and make it inefficient.

The industrialization of America led to lots of new technology for farming being developed, which further drove farmers into debt. New plows and tools were created and although they made farming significantly easier, they were also very expensive. Farmers were forced to buy these tools by their landlords and they struggled to find cheaper ways to compete with larger farms. Unlike farmers earlier in the century, these farmers did not grow many crops, even for sustenance. Instead, they grew only a couple cash crops, which could bring a lot of money, but also could bring in none if there was a drought or other problem.

Not only did Cesar Chavez protect and help farm workers, which in turn led to a benefited society, he also allowed farmworkers to gain rights and made these people feel important. This helped society and farmworkers in an important way. According to “About Cesar,” the text states, “Cesar made everyone, especially the farm workers, feel the jobs they were doing in the movement were very important,” (Cesar Chavez Foundation 25).
Cows died all of the time. Without cows, people couldn't survive. Cows gave them milk and meat to drink, eat, or sell. It was important for them to have things to sell because they were in the Great Depression so no one had much money. When the cows died, people cut them open to find out why they died.
Most farmers struggled to make a living due to key issues. There was often a high tax on railroads which had cut a large profit from the farmers. The farmers had no other option other than the railroad since the farmers were often very far off westward in the Great Plains, while the market with a large population was still in eastern cities like New York. Being an ag teacher requires a lot more than just sitting in a classroom. It proves to be much easier for students to learn certain things by performing those tasks tangibly. Agricultural education prepares students for life. Ag classes offer students an education that will prepare them for college and work, as well as teaching them how to be educated consumers (“National Teach Ag Campaign - Frequently Asked Questions.” ) . Agriculture teachers also serve as the school’s FFA advisor.
Many Americans see Vermont as a land of agriculture, with most Vermonters being small-town, rural dairy farmers or loggers. While this may have been true of early Vermont, the reality of today's Vermont is quite different. Pre-war Vermont saw poverty and isolation; post-war Vermont saw a booming economy. It is true that Vermont's dairy industry is prevalent -- dairy products have often accounted for over 80% of Vermont's gross farm income and produce billions of pounds of milk annually (Albers 274-278). But agriculture and logging collectively only account for 3.4% of the state's labor force (Albers 313).
They might say this because early farmers could starve if their crops died or failed because of the climate or various other reasons. This is not a good argument because if the early farmers’ crops died they could just eat the animals that they were breeding and keeping in their barns and pastures. They could also go out and hunt animals for food if needed. Still, despite what others may say, I still think the Agricultural Revolution was a positive thing.
The documentary Cowspiracy, overall, wants to tell us about the truth behind animal agriculture, which heavily affects the survival of our planet. Basically, the documentary said that animal agriculture is responsible for most of the greenhouse gases that lead to global warming, which also affects our planet. The goal of this documentary is to make us believe that the meat industry, and by extension the fast food industry, are the causes that lead to most of our environmental issues. Also, the documentary stated that the amount of water that is used for cows and other livestock is way too much and our planet will gradually face a lack of water. The solution that they propose is just to become vegetarians, which will solve everything.
