The Great Gatsby Have you ever wondered why Gatsby decided to come back and find Daisy? In the book, The Great Gatsby, written by Scott Fitzgerald, Gatsby pursues to find his ex-lover Daisy by buying a house and throwing massive parties across the bay hoping she would wander into his party sometime. Gatsby has a true love for Daisy and he is very eager to find her so he uses Nick as a way to reel her into his hands. The main character Nick is seen throughout the novel as a bystander and Gatsby’s new good friend.

Even though women did not have as many rights as men did at the time, they knew how to make up for their disadvantage.
In love, caring, and greedy, Gatsby gives up everything for someone who isn't worth his time but in his eyes she's perfect and everything he wants. Gatsby has made many plans to see Daisy and because of this people see him as a stalker but others see him in love. Gatsby and Daisy met when Gatsby was in the war. Gatsby fell in love with Daisy as a soldier at a dance under a moonlit sky the night before he was being shipped overseas. We can hear his thoughts.
Success in society would mean a great amount of achievement for a long period of time involved around money, power and fame whereas some would argue that success means finding true happiness and love despite the amount of money you have. Nick came to the realization of how shallow and greedy the wealthy really are, and he struggles with knowing that after everything Gatsby did for people no one showed up to his funeral. After meeting Nick, Gatsby sees an opportunity to reconnect with Daisy through her cousin Nick. When chasing a dream the typical human will use any resources to get closer to achieving that goal: in this case, Gatsby uses Nick as his resource. As a reader you can sense the potential excitement Gatsby has after realizing he may actually have a chance now at getting Daisy back. Sometimes when chasing a dream we as people do not actually consider whether or not it is attainable, this very thing is the reason for Gatsby’s downfall and eventual death. There is a battle between whether or not we should pursue our dreams and it is a rather complicated one especially in Gatsby’s case.
In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, The Great Gatsby, we meet a character named Jay Gatsby, we see how he can’t move on and how he is stuck in the past. Reading The Great Gatsby made me realize that I am going to have to move on in life and you can't stay in the past or it will hurt more than you realized. Many scenes show that Jay Gatsby is stuck in the past and that he can't move on, and we see closer to the end of the book that this affects him. In the story, we see how Gatsby loves Daisy even after not seeing her for years. Daisy has since moved on and is now married to Tom Buchanan.

At first Nick thinks of Gatsby only as an extravagant socialite— with his exorbitant parties with excessive amounts of guests— but, upon actually meeting, as aforementioned, and recognizing him, decides he is actually a pretty decent guy. He eventually reverts to thinking Gatsby might not be such a good person once he reached the conclusion that Gatsby was only treating him in such a kind way so he would go through with the scheme to hook him up with Daisy. In reality, Nick spends the entire book going back and forth between loving and disliking Gatsby. He also can’t seem to decipher his feelings about Jordan Baker. At first she seems pretty standoffish to Nick, but then they appear to get along at Gatsby’s parties— maybe even as if they were in love with each other— but alas, it was not meant to be.
Reading the question made me change my mind about Gatsby being a stalker Gatsby wants to make plans with Daisy because he miss her not because he wants to stalk her he’s in love with Daisy and wants things to be back how it use to be so he decide to make plans for her probably not knowing that Daisy has a whole family , but I dont think thats going to stop him from wanting to do things with her. Nick is always constantly judging Gatsby, but admires him for pursuing his dreams he says, “it was an extraordinary gift for hope, a romantic readiness such as I never found in any person and which it is not likely I shall ever find again.” This explains why he invites Daisy to tea when Jordan said, “He wants to know, continued Jordan, if you’ll invite Daisy to your house some afternoon and then let him come over.”
In the book, The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gatsby is reunited with the love of his life Daisy Buchanan. In the previous chapters Gatsby's character is more confident and easygoing. When Gatsby is around Daisy he is a bit nervous and tense. For insistence, when Daisy is taking a “tour” of Gatsby's house with Nick and Gatsby, Nick's thoughts on Gatsby's behavior were this, “After his embarrassment and his unreasoning joy he was consumed with wonder at her presence. ”(71)
