Many artist have different ways that they show their feelings through their artwork. Even though they show their own feelings when we look at them we will often experience other feelings. The novel, Don Quixote reads stories about chivalry. Chivalry is a system with religious, moral, and social code, this is something that knights follow. From him reading those stories he convinces himself that he is a knight, so he decides to go on a journey doing acts of chivalry. Don Quixote is accompanied by his friend Sancho Panzo. In the painting, Boys Playing on the Shore, it shows three young boys enjoying a day on the shore. It looks as if they are taking an imaginary journey with their boats. One of the many ways friendship is depicted in the novel is when Sancho tries to warn Don Quixote about the windmills. In the novel it says “heedless of the cries his squire Sancho sent after him, warning him that most certainly they were windmills and not giants he was going to attack”. This shows friendship because Sancho was trying to warn Don Quixote, so he wouldn’t make a fool of himself. A real friend does try and warn you so that you won’t make a fool of yourself or hurt yourself. Even though Don Quixote didn’t listen to Sancho, it’s just the fact that he tried to.
