How does gender shape intimacy and emotional intimacy? According to our text, “intimacy can sometimes be a source of conflict in a heterosexual relationships; because women tend to be more skilled at intimacy than men”. Women tend to me more emotional and emotionally expressive than men, men tend to be more reserved about emotional issues.In the process of becoming intimate one person shares information and feelings about themselves if the other person wants to develop or maintain intimacy with the other person they will then in reciprocate the same information and feelings about themselves.When people are intimate with each other, they open themselves to vulnerability.According to our text, “intimacy is about power”.
