Gender Stereotypes Will Ruin Our Future
There should be no gender stereotypes. Have you ever thought how narrowly our society thinks when it comes to stereotyping? We always put people in a certain box just by knowing their gender. We always chain ourselves and other people up with cliches and principles that our society imposes. We always think what is suitable and what’s not suitable to be seen by others according to our genders. By chasing social norms and trying to fit in them, we lose ourselves, we lose our personalities and we lose our creativity. It’s time to change that!
Gender stereotypes. They come from very long ago. Starting from the Stone Age two genders had certain roles: women had to cook, sit at home and look after kids, while men were supposed to hunt, kill and do all of the physical job. As time passed we evolved, our lives became easier and our intelligence developed, but stereotypes stayed the same. Do you think that we can progress any further without changing that? Before you act, make sure that you are prepared for them. Know that 160,000 teenagers just in the USA stay at home daily, because they are being bullied at school for behaving ‘differently’. If you still want to say something offensive, then you are taking the responsibility for divesting a human being from their right for education. You will not just ruin their future, you may ruin the future of your country, because you never know how much of a genius the person is in their own distinct way. Some say that girls can be athletic. Boys can have feelings. Do not stereotype. Think wisely. Girls can be smart. Boys can be creative. Vice versa.
