The offering of, Homer, in the presentation of the most enduring and fanciful story, one can simply only proceed to grasp and wish to fully discover all the wonders it offers. Philosophers and religion present an aspect of their own on humanity, with reasoning behind why such things happen. Why do we suffer? The perspective of all, on the similarity of gods and human, one can simply openly envision the offerings of, Iliad. The Iliad presents itself in a vice of pride, as many see it as a glorifying of war, does, Homer advocate war as a justification for loss and tragedy? Thru out the entire book, Homer shows and reflects on the power of, Hector and mainly recognizes and that he is viewed as the never ending “god “. This resemblance shows and is proclaimed as an example that no one is on that level, as a bible would feed us that information. Homer, as my second view simply is stating no one is immortal and presents it in a way that, Hector was the true hero in this story. His honoring, love and passion showed based on the effort for his body in comparison to the sense and honoring for, Achilles. The impact of someone left behind is more glorified and important rather than the way they died. Hectors funereal represents the ending of fallen heroes and the fallen of many that have touched society with positive impact, and shows how character can fulfill the mind and soul of others left behind. “Watching this from the wall, Hector’s mother tore off her shining veil and screamed, and his old father groaned pitifully, and all through town the people were convulsed with lamentation, as if Troy itself, the whole towering city, were in flames. They were barely able to restrain” (Iliad22.450-56) The feeling of, Hector’s way of approaching his death is the sense of him knowing the people he will be leaving behind. In the light of, his begging, Achilles for mercy is to simply give his loved ones the clarity and respect to honor him, as a way of peace after the tragedy they will embark on. With that said, Hector’s funeral summed up the Iliad as another resemblance that the war was technically over.
