CHAPTER ONE The Schutzstaffel Hitler 's reign of power in Germany began January 30, 1933. This was to be the beginning of one of the darkest chapters in modern history. The Schutzstaffel or what is commonly referred to as the SS, was primarily established as a protection squadron and known throughout Nazi Germany as the Black Shirts. The SS was a central organization within the Third Reich 's power structure.
A Utopia, a perfect society is something everybody dreams about but it is not easy to achieve. There have been many groups that have tried to achieve it. Many of these groups put in everything they can to try and create a utopia for their people and it still doesn’t work out. Trying to create a utopia would be extremely difficult for even the smartest people.
By getting rid of everything that makes us human, there is no prejudice, differences and discrimination. Everyone has equal food, housing, opportunities, and hair color. The Giver is a perfect society. Another utopia that actually exists is the American prison system. Every aspect of their lives is regulated.
This philosophy dictates that everyone in a society are equal and that all aspects of life are controlled by the state (Waugh, 2001). Unlike his counterpart, Hitler practiced Nazism during his tenure as Nazi Germany’s totalitarian (Waugh, 2001). Nazism asserts that everyone has unconditionally pledged their loyalty to the ‘Führer’ and that the Aryan race was superior to all other races (Waugh, 2001). What would your perfect society be? Some people will say that their society's government is in the wrong, most people say that the way their society functions is wrong and some people will realize that their society is treating a certain group of people wrong . The concept of a perfect or Utopian society is not an achievable goal because as we see in so many literary pieces such as the Giver and Fahrenheit 451 at least one person disagrees with the values of the society. Some people believe that their society's government is in the wrong.
Each individual has a different perspective of what a perfect society is. Throughout the course of history there have been instances where an individual takes on the task of creating a perfect society to suite their opinions and perspectives. The attempt to create perfect societies are known as utopian experiments. The goal of a utopia is to employ peace and perfection through dominance, restriction, and loss of freedoms of a community. A strong disciplined leader is needed to maintain their ideas of a perfect society, to instill a sense of fear, restrict information, and violate freedoms which forms a controlling authority over the community.

Ever since the creation of life on earth, humans have tried to achieve one thing and one thing only: perfection. Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it as “The condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects.” In a modern world, the concept of perfection has been distorted and generates an abundance of seemingly negative consequences, ultimately putting into question whether or not perfection is even possible. This striving for perfection is seen in Oryx and Crake, a novel written by Margaret Atwood. Crake’s idealistic personality and intelligence capabilities ultimately led him to replace the human population with a modified version that is free from all the negative aspects of humans.
My utopia would be the fairest place on earth. Every person would be treated fairly. The government and the people would be treated fairly and everyone would enjoy it. I’m not saying that everything would be perfect because everything has flaws. All I’m saying is that it would be an ideal place to live.
To what extent can a perfect society be possible? In the novel The Giver the society was established to be a utopian world but, ended up becoming not so perfect after all with terrible things hiding underneath the surface. Modern day society is far from perfect; however, it does have some similarities with Jonas´ home along with many differences. In today's society we pride ourselves on having the freedom to choose our own lifestyle.
A perfect or dystopian society would have everything we wish. We could live without racism and have a nation where everyone is equally treated no matter what their racial orientation is. Since some problems we encounter today are caused by the government. Most sepcifically our president. Some people agree with him and others do not which causes a stir-up between citizens.

Hitler also wanted to rule the world under his and only his command. Adolf also changed Germany by Killing and going against jews. Hitler also changed the jewish religion by killing jews and making them look bad and also causing them to switch religions by causing fear into them.
Imagine a child having many fathers and many mothers, but no parents. Imagine being born out of necessity not out of love. Now imagine being the unfortunate one deemed too weak or unfit to continue living in the perfect society. This is the case in many Utopias. Eugenics and Infanticide are often the very foundation of a utopia.

The Wave was a recreation of WWII when Hitler was trying to wipe out the whole race of Jews. Within a couple of years this party was in control of Germany. The factors that caused Hitler’s success for the rise of Nazism has been studied ever since. Hitler’s organisation skills and personal traits helped to bring the Naizs into power.
