Introduction The media in all of its forms has significant impact on older teenager’s values and beliefs about relationships. The following essay will identify the core beliefs and values in all relationships as well as identify the different forms of media that exist in society. Moreover, the following essay will evaluate how much the media influences people’s beliefs and values about relationships. Social media is online ways of communicating with people as well as provide pictures and videos of these interactions and communications. The second type of media is print media such as magazines and books etc. Print media refers to any type of written media that is either printed or hand written; novels, comics, newspapers and pamphlets can also be considered as forms of print media. The third type of media is television which is advertisements, films and tv series. This type of media refers to any form of entertainment or advertisement shown on television. The fourth type of media refers to internet media, this includes blogs and online articles. This type of media is an online form of media that is informative and provides information. The fifth type of media is the radio where podcasts as well as live talk shows provide verbal information. This type of media is also used to inform and does not require any interaction but rather just listening. The sixth type of media is the news media, this is broadcasts of demostec or global events. An example of this would be Facebook where two people can choose to post about what type of relationship they are in and others can comment on this. This can make others perceive other types of relationships as well as receive comments on their type of relationship. Print media can influence relationships through fiction and non-fiction writings in any form of print media where ideal and realistic relationships are written about. An example of print media influences could be novels where authors write about friendship, romance or family relations in fiction or non-fiction. Television media can influence relationships because a lot of people mimic popular culture which is shown in tv series as well as films. An example of this is a popular teen show called geordie shore where groups of teenagers are shown on a reality show living their ideal lives forming friendships, partnerships as well as their interactions with their family. This show has a large audience which follows trends and fads which the tv show influences. Internet can influence relationships through blogs and online articles where everyday people can give their thoughts on any interactions they may have experienced. An example of this would be the blog website reddit where daily topics are discussed such as romantic partnerships
