Nick Carroway is very sincere with being able to cope with the things he has to hide. The way that F. Scott Firzgerald made him telling the stoey the way he saw it makde the book even more interesting. You could experience a heart-broken love story through someone else’s eyes. Knowing and imagining the things that Nick had to hide and lie about in The Great Gatsby, makes him a tremendous character. The story of Gatsby’s heartbreak is told by Nick. Nick was Gatsby’s neighbor. He is telling Gatsby and Daisy’s love story from his point of view. Nick didn’t know who Gatsby was at first. The only thing Nick knew about Gatsby was that they live right next to each other. Nick knew Gatsby because of his glamorous parties. Nick said, “because those gleaming dazzling parties of his were with me so vividly that I could still hear the music and the laughter faint..” (188) …show more content…

He went and was the only one that had an invitation. Everyone else just show up at his parties. There was a purpose for it though. Daisy. Gatsby knew Daisy 5 years before. Gatsby used Nick because him and Daisy were cousins. Gatsby threw all of his parties just for Daisy. Hoping she would come back to him one day. But she never did. His party’s were compared to “...as the moon rose higher the inessential houses began to melt away.” (189) Nick thought that Gatsby was the most wonderful human being in the world. He had always wanted to know what Gatsby’s parties were like. Soon he found out with some consequences. Soon Nick was hiding secrets from Tom because because of Gatsby and Daisy. He wasn’t so sure about it at first. It started out as one. Then it was two. Then three. Then four. And they just kept adding up. They all believed “tomorrow we will run faster.”
