As Nelson Mandela once said, “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear but the triumph over it.” In the epic poem The Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus, the main character, makes several crucial decisions. The Odyssey is about King Odysseus’ ten year journey home from the Trojan War to his palace back in Ithaca. Odysseus is a dynamic character because throughout his long and difficult journey, he shows courage and arrogance in the situations he faces. Odysseus displays bravery in the beginning of Homer’s epic poem.
