Romeo In the well known play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo Montague Plays a well more than important role throughout the play. Although we know the tragic ending by the first page, my first impression on this 14 year old boy may be different than what you would expect. In act 1, Romeo is already in love with a girl named Rosaline, and while I was eager for Romeo to meet juliet, I was more than curious about Rosaline and Romeo. Romeo seems so love sick over this girl in the beginning until something happens which quickly changes his mind. Even though Rosaline is important to him, Romeo goes to extreme measures to win over Juliet's love. His early lover, Rosaline, makes him lovesick. Romeo knows he has no shot with this girl, yet he can’t help but be in love with her. Since Romeo seems so madly in love with Rosaline, I would never have guessed another girl would even cross his mind. The way he talks about Rosaline showed that he never thought about anything else. Romeo says, “Ay me! Sad hours seem long. Was that my father that went hence so fast”. This comes to show that Rosaline is the only thing this boy ever thinks about. He is deeply in love.
