Change is something that everyone and everything goes through. Changes could be good, or they could be bad. It all depends on how you view the world, and the people you surround yourself with. Scrooge, a character in the story: A Christmas Carol, goes through a change throughout the story, it takes a while, but by the end of the story, Scrooge goes from a miser, to the most cheerful, charitable, and generous person the town has ever known and it all happened in one night.

On the journey with this ghost, we see Scrooge’s own employee, Bob Crachit, with his large family. Scrooge’s first impression of the family is how big it is, but soon Scrooge starts to notice the little things. He notices how poor the family is, and then he notices Bob’s deathly ill son, Tiny Tim. Scrooge is shocked by the fact that Bob’s family is content, or even happy with the life they have. Maybe their life isn’t what most people would think of when someone says “perfect life”, but they have everything they need, and most importantly, they have family, and that’s all that matters to them. After a bit longer, Scrooge finds out that Bob, the employee he treats with the utmost disrespect, gives a toast to Scrooge, Bob speaks about how Scrooge is the main reason for the life of his family. Present then takes Scrooge away from the Chrachit’s house, and towards Fred’s house, where he was having a Christmas Eve dinner party. Scrooge was invited to the party, but refused to go, as Christmas was something he refused to celebrate. At Fred’s house, Scrooge and the spirit saw Fred and his wife discussing Scrooge. In their discussion, they were talking about their dear uncle Scrooge, and how they feel about him. This ghost had lots in store for Scrooge. This first thing that Ghost of Christmas yet to come shows Scrooge was three businessmen talking about Scrooge and his death, and none of them were really phased by it. The next thing that the ghost of Christmas past showed Scrooge was crooks robbing Scrooge’s house and selling all of his belongings for money. Then, the spirit Shows Scrooge is own dead body, and Scrooge realizes that the unhappy old man that the businessmen were talking of, and the people were stealing from, was himself. Next, The spirit shows the Cratchits mourning over the death of Tiny Tim. The last thing that the spirit showed Scrooge that night, was his own grave, towering over him. The spirit pointed to Scrooge’s grave, showing that that is where he would be going, but Scrooge isn’t ready to go yet. After seeing everything that he had seen, he was ready to be a better person. He wanted to help the Cratchits, he wanted to visit his nephew, and he wanted to change everybody's opinion on him, because he did not want to end up like his friend,
