In the book the Christmas Carol Scrooge uses different ways of thinking of business. The word business is used a lot in the Christmas Carol but Scrooge changes the meaning a little. Through Scrooge’s experiences and character development, Dickens shows the reader that he believes the “business” of being human is if he helps others and cares about his family and friends. Not about being rich that is portrayedin the beginning of the story.
The piece that were played next was Praeludium in G Major performed by Stephan Distad on the organ. The piece began with short rapid notes. As it progressed, the texture became polyphonic as unwinding and expansion of each melody line overlapped the original, resulting in three interchangeable melodies. The rhythm were energetic. Short, melodic and rhythmic phrases were commonplace, including the basso ostinato, a melody set over a repeated bass pattern.

So when Bob Cratchit and Fred began to talk they reminded Scrooge that Christmas was not about the gifts but spending your holiday with your loved ones and gave Scrooge a reassuring pat on the back. Before the night came to a close Tiny Tim nor any of the guests took their gift instead they all went out to the village and gave the boxes of chocolate to the poor without family with the kind words
The Display of Scrooge’s Change It is very important that an author does a good job displaying his characters and their changes in the story. Charles Dickens does a great job showing us that Scrooge is not a static character in A Christmas Carol. Ebenezer Scrooge is the greedy man in the novel who values his money more than anyone or anything. His greed has caused many people to dislike him, even his employees find him cruel and cheap. He begins to change, however, when he is visited by his dead partner Jacob Marley. Marley warns Scrooge that three other Spirits will be visiting him throughout the night, and will help convince him to change his ways.

He says, “ ‘But as I know your purpose is to do me good, and as I hope to live to be another man from what I was, I am prepared to bear you company, and do it with a thankful heart’ ” (Dickens 2). In this point of the story, Scrooge wants to change and is ready learn how to change his ways. He realizes that the Ghosts’ lessons are vital if he wants to change.
One night, in a dream, he is warned by his deceased friend, Marley, that three spirits would come to him. The first spirit is the spirit of Christmas past, and it shows him an event from his past. In the event, Scrooge is seen leaving his lover because she is too poor. Scrooge regrets this decision greatly. The next spirit tells him about the present, and it shows him how his employee, Bob Cratchit, is suffering.
