Is he crazy or is he just grieving? Or is he grieving incorrectly? The Kübler-Ross model, otherwise known as the Five Stages to Grief say that one must go through Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance before they have properly grieved. While there is no wrong or right way to grieve, the stages are listed as an example of what might happen. Hamlet, in the play Hamlet is made out to be crazy but in reality he is not grieving correctly.
Hamlet sparks an internal philosophical debate on the advantages and disadvantages of existence and whether it is nobler to live miserably or to end one's sorrow with a single stroke. Hamlet is in a state of madness that leads him to question get suicide, comparing it to a peaceful sleep. Through Hamlet's internal struggle with suicide his conscience guides him to live. Hamlet's views death to be almost like sleeping. Seeing as it puts those alive to rest. shakespeare makes emphasis of this by using repetition. Repeating the phrase ”To die, to sleep,to sleep” hamlet is projecting that death is a sleep, one you cannot wake from and where a being can be at peace. Hamlet simply wants the easy way out of his affairs and would belittle the act of suicide to going to sleep.
King Hamlet has died recently in his private orchard of unknown causes. Under current speculation of this tragic event comes a suspicion of the death being of leprous origin. This comes from his condition when found, which was harrowing and heart-rending. The body was covered in lesions and abscesses, despite there being no previous occurrence of leprosy or infection. At present, there are no suspects of foul play, but this notion has not been ruled out thus far.

This is emphasized by characters such as Prospero, audience interactions, the significance of audience interpretations, and views of death by Shakespeare and during his time which influenced the perspective The Tempest was written in.
In the beginning of the play Hamlet, the main character, is struggling with events that have taken place in his life. His Father has recently died and his Uncle has now married his Mother. With sorrow and pain, Hamlet tries to understand and unravel the aberrant events that have taken place with his family. The events have amended the way Hamlet views death. After his Father’s death, Hamlet questions the afterlife; whether it offers a “peaceful slumber” or an “everlasting nightmare”.

Even though death offer peace, but the afterlife which is unknown makes people cowardly to commit suicide. Suicide is a motif that appears frequently throughout Shakespeare 's Hamlet. Hamlet and Ophelia are the two characters in Hamlet who are involved with suicide, although Hamlet only contemplates it, but Ophelia actually commits suicide in Act 4.Throughout the novel, the act of suicide is treat religiously, morally and aesthetically.
As a result, Denmark might not be the same because there will not be a ruler from Denmark. Shakespeare uses the imagery of death, decay, and disease to present how people can lead others to taking unnecessary actions, which would then influence other people’s life. In conclusion, the imagery’s portrayed an image of how Denmark was a weak country since the king took actions not on helping the country but on his family.

From the beginning we are catapulted into a world where the limits between life and death are blurred, where the worlds of the living and the dead are joined. After all, one of the first characters to appear is the ghost of Old Hamlet. Even in the opening scene Shakespeare establishes a certain fascination with the dead.
Shakespeare presents death as an inevitable act of life, noting that all that is living must eventually come to an end. Due to “Hamlet” being a Shakespearean tragedy, the theme of death recurs throughout the play. Additionally, Shakespeare can be seen as using revenge as the main motive of a character’s murder, which makes “Hamlet” a revenge tragedy. The tragic nature means that by the end of the play, majority of the characters would have died. In this case, many of the characters have died due to murder or suicide.
