But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” (Jesse Owens) Dedication is a very good trait or characteristic to have because then your family and friends will understand how important something is to you. The novel Animal Farm by George Orwell explains how dedication creates opportunities. Snowball, Old Major, and Boxer all show dedication in the book. Snowball shows how he is dedicated to some things but not other things. He was very dedicated to living a long full life and not giving up when he knew he would not last much longer. He also really did care about all of the other animals and supported them. Old Major tells the animals about the dream that he has and says that he believes that they can overrule human. “Comrades, you have heard already about the strange dream that I had last night. But I will come to the dream later” (27). He was the one to discover Animalism. The other animals truly did appreciate him taking charge and being there leader for the short period of time we knew him. The animals all seemed to listen to him and respect what he thought. They also agreed with the way he wanted to overrule human. After his life ended they follow Old Major’s dream to overrule human and actually rebelled to overtake the farm. He showed it very clearly throughout the entire book. He is really dedicated to the animals for example when they are hungry he somehow makes sure that they do get food and that they don’t starve. He is very dedicated to the ideas of Animal Farm, but little ability to think about it independently. He is also very dedicated to the rules and the 7 commandments. He does not break them and if he sees another animal breaking one he will tell them or do something about it. Boxer was very dedicated to not giving up the farm and sticking strong to it. “What victory?” said Boxer. “His knees were bleeding, he had a lost shoe, and split hi hoof, and a dozen pellets lodged themselves in his hind legs (109).” This truly does show that he is a strong and dedicated pig to the farm and his other animal
