In Of Mice and Men, two workers travel to a ranch during the depression and the dust bowl .These characters help develop themes of loneliness and isolation. This story is emotional and has a big part with morality. The relationship of Lennie and George is sweet sometimes but also important. This story keeps the reader interested and gives us a worthy lesson. In this essay, my topics will be about the friendship these two characters share, and the loneliness these characters feel during this time.
In Of Mice and Men they use crooks, candy, and curleys wife to develop the theme loneliness by bringing up how they have no friends or family. When Curleys wife came into the cabin, The guys say that shes trying to flirt with them. “The girl flared up. Sure I gotta husband. You all seen him. Swell guy, aint he? Spends all his time sayin what hes gonna do to guys he dont like, and he dont like nobody. Think Im gonna stay in that twoby-four house and listen how Curleys gonna lead with his left twict, and then bring in the of right cross? `One-two he says. `Jus the of one-two an he’ll go down.” This is what curleys wife says about her marriage. Lennie is like the younger brother who wont stop annoying the older brother, george. In the text it says “George,very softly. No answer.George!Whatta you want?”’.
