After the Trojan war, Odysseus understands that he can now go back home to his family. His trials and tribulations show how loyal he is to his family. He never lets the goal of returning to Ithaka and his family go. While there might be omen ts when he isn't in his best qualities, his love for Telemachus and Penelope is never questioned.
