The novel “ The Billionaire Curse” written by Richard Newsome is about a boy called Gerald
Wilkins becoming the richest thirteen-year-old on the world. The world’s valuable diamond’s gone and now there is a murder which make’s Gerald life become endangered and now Gerald and his friends need to solve a mystery before it’s too late. This is interesting because Gerald becomes a billionaires and he needs to solve a mystery.

The writer used personification when the character Gerald said “ a sudden coldness clamped onto my shoulder” shows Gerald’s facial expression of being frightened of the mysterious man. The simile “ One of the boxes were glowing like there was a candle in it” shows the description of the item, as the writer help the reader understand the character’s feeling of mystery. Also the verb “glowing” identifies the bright luminous light, therefore a continuous light which also creates an effect on the character of mysterious personality. This help us understand that the character is very adventurous because of how the item was describe, before they were about the uncover the secrets within the box. The metaphor “After the last of her scream drained from her lungs” shows the character’s emotional change, which help identify the character change within the text. The verb “drained” shows a negative effect on the reader and also creates a rushing effect on the reader . The phrase “drained from her lungs” creates a negative imagery of the character within the reader. The phrase show a rushing and dark effect because of how the writer describes character’s feeling within the text. The language features shows the character’s are involved
