At the end of “The Great Gatsby, I noticed that we all can connect with Gatsby. We all have felt shame and we all had felt low esteem about ourselves. I love the fact that this book is able to be related in today's society. The American society is often described as selfish and ambitious. My favorite thing about the book is that it expose the American society, and it shows we are victims of our own selves by the choices we make. We have the power to build a good or bad reputation depending the choices we make. One of the main critiques the book makes about the American society is the men do not respect women. Gatsby shows the false glamour life many people lived in. Like Gastby,many people are living a life without an identity. We all want what others have. Although, Gatsby had many people coming to his parties, but he had no friends when it came to his death. Today it’s hard to call someone a “friend”.
