To kill a Mockingbird is like killing innocents for making others happy.
Tom Robinson, Atticus Finch, and Boo Radley all face poor treatment, Tom and Boo get pre-judged, because of their background, and Atticus faces prejudice in Maycomb because he is defending Tom Robinson. They all symbolize a Mockingbird, they have not done anything wrong, but attempt to help others, but society does not view this image. Citizens of Maycomb just view a black man commit a crime, a man who prefers to stay in his home then say it is strange for doing so, then see a white man who wishes to get the truth out so Tom Robinson can be free, and not be jailed for a crime he did not commit. Tom Robinson is mistreated for a crime he did not commit.

Tom Robinson is judged by society, Maycomb is evolved around racism and segregation, so he is criticized for helping a white woman. Many people call him names, and people insult him by using terms that are very derogatory, they treat him differently because of his skin complexion.

”Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit em, but remember it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird."(Lee 119)

Tom Robinson, is accused of committing a crime, but he was truly trying to help a person out, Tom has a hand that is a messed up which he is unable to do the injuries on Mayella’s body. But, he is scrutinized, by this because the society would listen to a white man’s word instead of a black man’s word. Boo Radley faces prejudice because he is seen as antisocial, but Boo is actually a well, kind, giving man.

“Well, it’d be sort of like shootin a mockingbird.”(Lee 370)

Boo Radley is seen as a abnormal person, but when he saves the lives of Scout and Jem, he is viewed as a different person. Maycomb has misjudged Boo Radley, he was portrayed as an outcast, he was treated as a unusual being. Boo Radley got a second chance when he was saving Jem and Scout lives because Heck Tate changed his mind about Boo which is why Heck covered up for Boo Radley and Heck suggested to not have a trial about it, so Boo would not be overwhelmed and get unwanted attention.

Atticus Finch is criticized for defending Tom Robinson in the case.

Atticus Finch sees the good in people instead of the negative side, he wishes to help Tom Robinson gain his freedom once again in the trial. Mayella made accustazion about Tom taking advantage of her body. But, Atticus knew this did not occur, thus he attempts to help Tom but when doing so people of Maycomb, have negative judgement towards him
