Cause and Effect
Tris and Four go through Four's fear landscape, Four had four fears, fear of heights, confinement, killing innocent people, and getting beat up by Marcus. The first fear they went through was the fear of heights due to fear of falling and dying as that is what some dauntless leaders do to secretly kill an initiates. The second fear they went through was the fear of confinement. Also the reason why he was scared of confinement was because he probably had some fears left as his dad locked him in a closet for a punishment. The third fear they went through was killing an innocent lady, he is afraid of this because although he is dauntless right now but he came from abnegation, like Tris, and as they teach them to not murder and …show more content…

To explain what this means, we can look at the time when Tris once volunteered to have knives thrown at her head instead of Al's. From Tris' selflessness from abnegation, she had the courage to be a substitute for Al and take the risk of getting stabbed. It begins with Tris leaving Dauntless headquarters to Erudite headquarters and meeting Jeanine. From there, Tris finds out that Jeanine works together with Dauntless leaders to make serums for the tests and have access to the tests and records only dauntless had access to. Later on, Tris suddenly figures out that the serums contain transmitters that connect the mind to a simulation program and it is made by Erudite. And realized how Erudite, with no power to fight, will use Dauntless to fight Abnegation. Furthermore, Tris finds out people are acting like sleepwalkers, getting controlled by some simulation, and Tris, who is divergent, is not getting controlled by that simulation. Lastly, they get caught and end up at Jeanine's office, captured. Certainly proving that Jeanine and the leaders were the one controlling the simulation without any assumptions possible.
Problem/Solutions
In the book "Divergent," Tris finds out the Dauntless are being controlled by Jeanine. Tris frees the Dauntless Soldiers by finding the computer that was controlling the Dauntless and stopping the simulation. Starting from fighting through the guards guarding the computer, chapter 37, and finding Four, chapter 38. Later, freeing Four from his simulation. Allowing him to stop the computer as it's stated on page 197, "He presses the screen again, and everyone on the
