How Does Virgie Change

In the story Vergie changes a lot from beginning to end in the book. Some changes were made that shaped her into a person that made her rethink her decisions in the future. The changes that I feel are important is not wanting to be a wife or mother. The three reasons why I think this influenced her decision was the baby in the well, becoming teacher like hers, and hearing Aunt Lou tell her story about the baby. These three factors are important because it effects how she wants to be in the future. Another reason I think this is important because I think that people should be influenced in life by events that have happened in their lives. Virgie decisions are important in the book and prove that you are never too early to think about your future. Finding the baby in the well changed everybody look on life in the family. Her teacher in the book is not married with any kids, and she finds it odd at first and even thinks if she gets lonely if she does. But, Virgie accepts that she wants to be like her and even if she will be lonely. I think the baby influenced this decision because if they never found the baby she would not be able to figure out her career goals or even think about it. I also think she could have chose this career path because she did not want to end up like the lady who put the baby in the well which is Aunt Lou. Another reason is when Virgie talked to Albert about not wanting to be a nurse because she didn’t care for the sick and they worked long hours without being paid much.
