Based on a systematic assessment, this paper examines the controversial relationship shared between the citizens of the United States and Wal-Mart. In the beginning, I believed Wal-Mart to be a positive force in the United States’ economy. From a consumer’s perspective, the company produces name-band goods and several services, at prices that other companies cannot afford to promote. However, most consumers do not realize how their purchases affect the overall job market and economy. For instance, with the increase in consumers who shop at Wal-Mart, the number of consumers who shop at local businesses and service providers have dramatically decreased. As a result, hundreds of these businesses have begun closed down, which has risen the rate
