Walt Disney There are thousands of people with motives to have a business and watch it grow to better themselves. The dictionary definition of an entrepreneur is a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk. There are many of entrepreneurs all over the world, but the one that stands out the most is Walter Elias Disney. Not only did he change the lives of many kids, but was a very successful person that helped out his economy. Walter was born on December 05, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. In the article The Economics of Disney World by Amelia Josephson it gives the readers a very good understanding of what actually costs people to go in and have a marvelous time. She also states that Disney Land does wonders for the economy for Orland, Florida “… $18.2 billion in annual economic activity generated locally by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts accounts for 2.5 percent of Florida’s gross domestic product…” (Josephson 1). Not only is Disney Land one of the biggest tax payers central Florida, but more than 1 in 50 employed Floridians had a job tied directly or indirectly to Disney World and its resorts. Even way before the park was open Even before the park was built, it already had an economic impact on Florida.
